Forged Steel Flanges Weld Neck Flange ASME B16.5
Forged steel flanges types are weld neck, slip on, socket weld, blind, lap joint and screwed, the dimensions and weight of weld neck flange are conformed to ASME B16.5. Below you will find short description and definition of welding neck type.
We also call WN flange as a high-hub flange and tapered hub flange. There are two types that regelar and long type. The regular type is used with pipes. The long type is used in process plant. It consists of a circular fitting with a protruding rim around the circumference. Generally machined from a forging, these flanges are typically butt welded to a pipe. The rim has a series of drilled holes that permit the flange to be affixed to another flange with bolts.
Our WNRF FLANGE is widely used and promoted in machinery industry, which has got the praise and favor form users. Weld nec It is mostly used in the mild conditions of medium, such as low pressure compressed air and low pressure circulating water. The price is relatively cheaper.

This pipe flange attach by welding the pipe to the flange neck. And transfers stress from the flange to the pipe instead. It also reduces the stress concentration from the base of the hub. Weld neck flanges are often used in hostile environments that have extremes of temperature, pressure or other sources of stress. It has been used at pressures up to 5,000 psi.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) sets manufacturing standards for raised face long weld neck flange shape, weight, material, and size. Now we would like to provide the weight chart for you. The below Weights are based on manufacturer’s data and are approximate.
Raised face is widely for all forged steel flanges including equipment and valves. The face on these flanges has two levels formed by two"Rings". The inner "Ring" forms the raised gasket contact surface and the outer "Ring"forms a non-contact area. This face type allows the use of a wide combination of gasket designs, including flat ring sheet types and metallic composites such as spiral wound and double jacketed types.
The flat surface allows for full contact across the whole face of the two flanges. Only Full Face Gasketsare to be used for "Flat Face" flanges. This ensures full and equal contact between thetwo mating flanges. Flat face flanges are never to be bolted to a raised face flange.
